Volunteer firefighters in communities along the Cobequid Pass shook their heads after hearing that 1,500 vehicles had been stranded by a devastating snowstorm Wednesday night.

Spending it all just to stay alive

Family has sold just about everything they own to fund double lung transplant

Ken MacKay chokes up when he starts to talk about his wife, Marilyn, who has been in Toronto for 16 months awaiting a double lung transplant.

FEATURED COLUMNIST

In tough times, Nova Scotia has know-how

NOVA SCOTIA handed out a paltry $4 million or so to its fishing industry this week, which proves we’re no longer grand masters of the subsidy game.

We’re no match for the Americans at this sport.
