Hello, I am in the process of taking the Medical Transcriptionist Course online at home. Do you have any statistics on the demand for this career?

Hello, After spending my first 8 years after university working abroad, I came back to NS and got a job in my field as assistant to an individual in a company. My work was great, but I was fired after 2.5 years after deciding to stick up for myself with the bosses jealous wife and another individual in the office who was infamous for sabatoging other people's positions.Everyone in the office was shocked by my dismissal, but not surprised as I was assistant #4 in just three years. My former boss said to me that my work had been exellent and there was nothing bad he could say about that. Next, I applied for a similar position in the same company but for a different office and boss in NS (where people tend to know the people in the other offices). I was hired immediately part time as the new boss knew the character of my former boss and said she could judge for herself if I was a good person or not. When I later moved into a full time position with another individual, that person made a call to my former employer to check, although I asked that that not be done. The former employer stated I was an excellent worker but had 'interpersonal issues'. I was almost declined the job because of that comment. When I was let go from that first position, I asked that my former boss provide me with a written letter of recommendation regarding the quality of my work, to avoid having to have future employers call him. He refused as it seems he didn't want to put anyting in writing that I could use in a wrongful dismissal suit....(which I had no intention of persuing) In the future, I plan on changing jobs/careers. My work with this company is basically my only Canadian job experience and it is vital that I am able to mention it on my resume. When I was fired I was offered recommenations from every person in the office, but when applying for a job usually the direct supervisor needs to be contacted. Although I had six references listed neither was my direct supervisor and therefore these individuals were not even called. How can I keep my former boss' comments on my good work although he will be asked why he fired me and if asked why I left the position what is the most diplomatic way to deal with it without bringing up negatives? How can I put this on my resume? I spent 2.5 years before being fired and have been back at the different office for 1.5 years. Thanks so much
