If another federal election was called, would you vote differently this time?

No, because I voted for an independant. What I find shameful is the biased reporting that is taking place. The CBC, for instance, obviously supports the coalition. Not surprising but it's not their job to give us their opinion! The job of the media is to provide unbiased information. Yes, I know I'm dreaming here. Lets hope Canadians are smart enough to see through this. And I would say this if thier view was slanted the other way too. And I would like to see more poll results in the media. I'm following two on line petitions. One for the coalition and one asking for the right to vote. Supporters of the coalition are at 25,000. The right to Vote is at 218,000. Yes, there are amny more petitions out there that might have different numbers. The point is do the research and get this information out there so the public can see what Candians want; Not what the media wants!

I spoiled my ballot in disgust with all the parties last time, I don't have that luxury this time. If conservatives insist on backing their power mad leader they can't be allowed in a third time.

INISBEAG, you hit the nail right on the head. Biased media in this country does not provide balanced, professional, journalistic reporting. The 'Natural Ruling Party' who believe they have the divine right to be in power, have had their eyes opened by the voting public (finally) despite the efforts of the media (CBS especially) to influence the results during and between elections. Not much wonder the Conservatives run so many ads ... it's the only way they can get their message out and circumvent the socialist/leftist ideology in the Canadian media. The Conservatives also know how to raise cash through fundraising while the rest of these political parties leach off the public purse to fund their election campaigns.

Quoting Steve Dion to Gilles when meeting on an elevator last evening after Dion's 'HOT AIR' national TV speech , "We're not used to being in opposition."

Case in point.

Right or wrong, I think if another election is called in the near future I may not vote at all. It's not that I want Harper to maintain his position but that the voters have made their choice less then two months ago and now we need to deal with it. How much are these adds costing us? how much is really being done to help the economy, and all other issues, when all of our leaders are spending their time trying to bring down Harper and his government?

Most definately. Voted NDP last time, did NOT vote for any coalition with the Liberals or the Bloc. After last nights botched TV address by Dion despite its overwhelming importance I believe this coalition given time will fold like a dollar store lawn chair. No choice but to vote ( holding my nose ) Conservative.

Why bother voting when an unelected patronage official can overturn election results at a whim? Hate Harper all you like, but love your country - demand to vote instead of these shenanigans. The invalidation of the election may be legal, but that does not make it right. It is a hold over from even more repressive times. Remember the parliamentary system is designed to give as little power to the people as possible and to keep power among the elite, Hence all these foolish rules that can invalidate elections where actual citizens vote, and allow the real power to be held by just one unelected patronage appointed person.

It would be nice if reason and logic prevailed with posters but it does not. Inflammatory words and phrases like Natural Ruling Party ,treason, sedition, separtists, undemocratic and the lot (which you will find in the Tory talking points) only divide and create mistrust. As for the public funding issue, the government of the day and Mr. Harper, pushed for more transparency and openness but once in power they try to turn back the clock to retain the power they so lusted for in opposition. Public funding was designed to take the power from the Corporations and lobbyists (AIRBUS,SPONSORSHIP)and make Parliament accountable to the people which means all voters, not just a select few. If the general public understood they would clearly see that the loss of public funding is a huge step backward and is in effect very undemocratic. The real issue hinges on democracy and whether the Prime Minister is accountable to Parliament. This is the very principle of Parliamentary democracy. In our government, whether Harper and his Party like it or not, the sitting Prime Minister, must have the confidence of the House of Commons. Mr Harper refuses to accept the power of the House and for that he and his Party are poised to pay a heavy price: which is required if we are to retain democracy. As for the Governor General she has a vital role to play and should not accept a request for prorogation since no Prime Minister has used that procedure to avoid a motion of confidence from the House.

There is always talk about the Cons getting their message out and I fail to see any positive message when you use republican scare tactics and inflammatory language as well as lies. Harper courted the Bloc and actually wrote the Governor General asking for what he now wants denied. He actually lied to the people about the Canadian Flag not being there during the Coaltion press conference yet it was there. Will some people blindly support this type of leadership and make it the norm? Only 36% thankfully! History is full of examples of blind allegiance to a man and a party. Our soldiers fought against this in WW1 and WW2 and if we want to support our troops please remember my great uncle who rests in a War cemetery in France and stand up for the democracy, truth, fairness and respect that he and so many of his young friends died fighting for!!

Definitely not. The Conservatives have been doing a good job in spite of the biased reporting of the CBC and much of the national print media. I would not want to see "Prime Minister" Jack Layton, the master puppeteer who is pulling the strings for his puppet Dion.
